Studying abroad not only enriches your academic experience, but allows you to engage other cultures while earning your degree. In addition to the Adelphi faculty-led  summer programs below, students may study abroad for a summer term, one semester or for the whole academic year by participating in exchange programs with our global partner institutions.

Italian Language, Art, History and Mediterranean Studies in Viterbo, Italy

Ever dreamt of honing your language skills in the Italian countryside while savoring the local cuisine?  This intensive language course gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the language and culture of Italy in one of the best-preserved medieval cities of Europe.  Viterbo is located about one hour north of Rome and less than an hour and a half to Florence.  Students of all levels (beginning, intermediate and advanced) will travel over together for the first session of the USAC Viterbo Language Institute and can take 3-6 credits in language and electives.  There is also the option of extending your stay for session II and completing more credits and language study.  Electives will be offered in Music, Art, Environmental Studies and History.  An optional field study is available in the south of Italy.  Enjoy la dolce vità an hour north of Rome, discover the ruins of ancient civilizations and bask in the richness of Italian art and architecture!

Spanish Language, Culture and International Business in Bilbao, Spain

Have you dreamt of spending your time under the Spanish sun, strolling the tapas bars, watchingfutbòl in the cafés and chatting with native speakers in Spanish?  Come explore Spanish language and culture while starting your summer on the Iberian Peninsula!  Close to the beaches of Getxo, Bilbao is a unique city in the heart of the Basque country, located 6 hours from Paris and about 5 hours from Barcelona and Madrid.  This program is open to beginning, intermediate and advanced speakers. Elective courses are offered in International Management, Spanish Civilization and Surfing with the option to participate in a Field Study to Madrid.  Students may elect to live in an apartment or with one of the local homestay families and may extend their stay into Session II.  An overnight field trip to the French Basque country is included.
