What can I do with a major in Spanish or French?

Adelphi’s Center for Career and Professional Development offers support and tools to help you figure out your optimal career path. Use the Career Path resource to see what careers are often connected to a major in language studies. Make an appointment with one of our career counselors for personalized assistance or career exploration.

Prepare for a teaching career

The languages, literatures and cultures department offers a unique combined baccalaureate/master’s five year program which allows students to major in Spanish and also fulfill courses in education that will lead to New York State teaching certification.

See the Scholar Teacher Education Program (STEP) Master of Arts Programs in Childhood Education and Adolescence Education offered in association with the Adelphi University Ruth S. Ammon School of Education.
